The New Fleet
We have just replaced part of our fleet with 7 new 18 tonne Daf LF65s supplied by TBF Thompson (Garvagh) fitted with bespoke Multi-temp bodies build by Gray & Adams which are capable of transporting chilled, fozen and ambiant products. All are fitted with automatic gearboxes which makes the job of the driver much more relaxed and should also deliver improved fuel efficiency so reducing our carbon footprint.
The Food Show 2011
Our bi-annual Food Show for the Catering and Bakery Trades took place in the Lodge Hotel, Coleraine on the 16th & 17th February. The event was attended by over 50 suppliers. Over 1100 customers and potential customers enjoyed a great day out with lots of prize draws. Many new products were available on the stands for tasting with advice for their use direct from the suppliers. Our own AFS stand also featured a wide range of packaging products, cakeboards and cake decorations which attracted a lot of interest.
New Image
Since we updated the image of our trucks we thought it was only right to also update the image of our staff. So all members of staff and management have received smart new uniforms to match the colours of the company logo in Grey, Red, Black and White.
New Website Launched
Our corporate website was originally created by local company Reach New Media in 2005. We asked Reach New Media to improve the site by introducing our catalogue to it so that customers can view our range at the click of a button. We also now feature any new products that we add to our range and the great value for money promotions we run each month. The new website also provides a useful resource for customers by providing contact details for various members of the AFS team and for new clients by the provision of an easy to use enquiry form.
New Accreditation
We are pleased to announce that we have successfully achieved accreditation from STS Solutions auditing body. This extends our scope of customers to include the Healthcare, Education and Prison sectors. In addition we have retained EFSIS certification for the 4th year running.
